“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

Therapy for Helpers & Healers

As healers ourselves, we know that while being a professional helper can be an exceptionally rewarding career, it can also be heavy work. As a helper, you may witness traumatic events firsthand, or experience vicarious trauma through secondary exposure to another person’s trauma. Over time, you may notice yourself playing the same event over and over again in your mind, having difficulty disconnecting from your workday, or having nightmares or flashbacks of particular memories. As a result, not only might your body and mind be negatively impacted by the mental weight being carried, but you may feel less enjoyment in your life, or experience strains in your relationships with family members, friends, and colleagues.

We’re here to support you through this storm

When you dedicate your life to helping others, it can be easy to forget to take care of yourself. Whether you’re experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or need to decompress from an isolated work-related trauma or event, we will provide you a confidential, safe space to process your unique experience. You will work together with your therapist to identify goals and the best therapeutic course of treatment that will empower you to be the best version of yourself in each role you play.

We offer a free 15 minute consultation.
